Roots That Built the Kitchen

Built on family and experience. Capo’s Pizzeria began with a simple goal: serve pizza the right way, every day. The story starts with family. “Ricky” Perna and his brother Nick grew up around restaurants, learning from his father Rick, who was born and raised in Buffalo and brings over 45 years of experience. Those early lessons shaped a clear focus on consistency, care, and respect for the craft. What started as shared work quickly became a shared purpose that still guides the kitchen today.

Capo's Pizza was first established in 2015 by Ricky Perna, then joined by his brother Nick and developed by his father Rick, an Italian-American from Buffalo, NY, a city of great pizza, sub shops and true chicken wings. Ricky and Nick control the overall company and franchising decisions with The Original Pizza Brothers LLC, while their father Rick works as Corporate Chef and Consultant of Restaurant Operations.

The name “Capo” comes from Italian-American culture, meaning “the boss” or “head of the family.” It represents our commitment to being the leader in Buffalo-style pizza. With a proven track record and homemade recipes, Capo’s strives to be the true “Capo di Tutti Pizze” — the boss of all pizzas.

Capo’s Pizzeria operates four franchised and licensed locations across San Antonio, featuring full-service, quick-service, and food court models. Opened between 2016 and 2022, our units demonstrate the brand’s flexibility, strong market demand, and proven ability to succeed in multiple restaurant formats.
